Mayedate, Wakidate, Zudate, Ushirodate

These are helmet badges, like the kasa-jirushi, and all for the same purpose, but the names vary with their size and the part of the helmet on which they are worn. The little one is called mayedate and is worn on the front, the large one is called ushirodate and is worn at the back. Wakidate are worn at both sides over the "ears" of the helmet, and kashiradate on the top at what the text here calls the "ventilation place."
