Uwa-obi (belt, sash)

For this also linen and cotton cloths are recommended wound twice or three times around the body, the actual length depending upon the wearer. Fold the linen or cotton cloth into halves, then twist it and put a little piece of leather in the center, so that you can find the middle of it even when in a dark place. When putting it on, put the center mark against the front of the corselet, take the two ends around the waist and to the front again, and after shaking up the corselet tie the obi in front very firmly in the hana-musubi knot before mentioned.
